Why is the hotel called “1872 Stadium Hotel”?
Our 1872 Stadium Hotel takes its name from Le Havre Athletic Club (HAC), famous for being the first and oldest Football Club in France, founded in 1872 in Le Havre. With sole and exclusive usage of the Stadium complex, the HAC has set itself an ambitious project to create a luxury 4* hotel integrated right in the heart of the Océane Stadium, with each of the 20 rooms offering exceptional stunning views of the football pitch.
The atmosphere and style of the 1872 Stadium Hotel were strongly inspired by British Clubs, thus paying tribute to the Club’s British founders, who used to work in Le Havre harbor.
After being the first Football Club to be founded in France, the HAC is now the first Club in France to create a hotel within a Stadium complex.
